Vegan Coming O U T!

My friend and fellow PCRM Food for Life Instructor, Tracey, has been sharing some pearls of wisdom on her Facebook page called “In Pure Harmony”, so I asked her if I could share them with you. She said, “Of course!” This is what she wrote:

I am vegan. I am loud with it and I am proud of it. Howeva! I do not pretend that going from the standard american diet to healthy vegan is EASY or FAST! It is a process. It is a gentle re-connecting with your body, heart and soul. It takes patience, time, understanding and quiet. It takes experimentation. It is what we in the technology industry call “continuous improvement” which means there is no such thing (or day) to reaching perfection. It is about every day doing the best you can and in that process you will feel better and better. Some are more motivated than others, and that is fine. Some are sicker than others, and that will likely motivate you more 😉 Some are just not sure so you are just being curious, excellent! Curiosity, NOT judgement, is the beginning of change in the right direction, whatever that may be for you. Ask. Seek. Listen. All will happen when and as it should.

Here’s another one from Tracey that made me smile:

Well, as the song goes….”I’m coming out! I want the world to know, got let it show..!” 🙂 Yup, I have been tormenting myself for MONTHS trying to make the English language say what I mean without using the “V” word. Why? Because I thought it was intimidating to people. And well, it is AND it is totally necessary at this point in our nation to address our health crisis with approaches that are intimidating, bold and EFFECTIVE. So here it is…I am a VEGAN coach! I help people transition to a Vegan lifestyle for personal health, spirituality and peace. I hope I can help in any or all of those areas in your life with my message. I want to thank you, this wonderful community – whether you are vegan, vegetarian or full-blown carnivores – I LOVE YOU ALL! xoxoxo

Tracey, you ROCK!!!

*Side note: The last time I was at a restaurant the waiter asked, “Are you a vegan?” It kind of surprised me that he didn’t first ask, “Are you a vegetarian?” No, he went straight to vegan! I said, “Yes!” I didn’t bother going, “No, I’m a whole foods plant-based vegan”. There’s a shift happening and it’s ALL good! Better for your health, for the future of our planet and for the animals!*
