After work today, I had this craving for something warm like a soy latte from Starbucks, but then I thought, you’re craving one of their drinks because you haven’t had enough water today and you need to stop by the health food store. So I ended up not giving in to my craving and headed for the health food store where I picked up a five pound bag of organic carrots for about the same price as one Starbucks. Afterward I headed home and batched up the following drink: a couple of beets & beet greens, a bunch of carrrots, and a large piece of ginger and half a lemon without the peel. Simple & refreshing!
Juice ON!
Today, I also came across this YouTube video with Kris Carr talking about PH levels. I first became aware of the importance of the body’s Ph level years ago when I first met my friend Annegrethe back in Denmark. She will drink a “cocktail” of Apple Cider Vinegar (two spoonfuls to one small glass of water) twice a day. Her father had been the first reflexologist in my home town. He would also talk to me about the importance of Ph balance when I’d go to see him for reflexology treatment. When your body’s PH is in balance diseases, like cancer, cannot grow! Another friend back there would be able to look at me and say, “You look a little tired. Here drink some water!” He was always right on. Water is so important! Now I notice that if I get a sugar craving in the afternoon or I have a headache, it’s usually because I haven’t been drinking enough water. Here’s Kris Carr talking about the importance of Ph levels, water & more. She’s a lot of fun to watch!
